Cultivating Change and Harvesting Hope for Inclusion & Innovation

UrbanPonics is excited to announce the launch of Cultivating Change and Harvesting Hope, our annual fundraising campaign for inclusion and innovation. We inspire our local neighborhoods to grow food where they live, no matter where they live! Our educational activities for indoor farming and hydroponic growing provide hands-on learning, create social engagement, and build confidence in an environment that is fun, safe, and inclusive.

How the UPstairs Farm Supports Our Mission:

Community Engagement

Provides a hub for community events, fostering collaboration and participation in sustainable agriculture initiatives, that strengthen local food systems. 
Special Needs Mentorship and Training

Engages and supervises a neurodiverse, special needs population to learn hydroponics’ processes, necessary to grow food indoors year-round.
Educational Workshops

Develops and delivers customized educational programs, tailored to the needs of local schools and colleges which provide opportunities to learn about and participate in hydroponic and aquaponic indoor farming.
Research and Development

Enables ongoing experimentation and innovation in hydroponic techniques, to optimize crop yields and create resource efficiency in urban settings. 
Volunteer Opportunities

Offers a space for community members to volunteer, engage with urban farming, and contribute to local food production efforts, empowering them to make a difference!
Increased Production Capacity

Produces fresh, nutritious lettuce and basil during the winter months, and directly contribute to alleviating food deserts and enhancing food security.

Our Progress

The UPstairs Farm is coming along. We’re transferring fish, planting seedlings, building grow towers, beginning to fill out our new 7,500 sq ft space in Warminster, PA.

Through the dedicated efforts of our team and volunteers, and the generosity of APS and our donors, UrbanPonics has been operating our UPstairs Farm for over a year. It is equipped to grow a variety of produce using hydroponic and aquaponic techniques and equipment.

We are currently working to increase our capacity to grow fresh, nutritious, and affordable produce at scale and year-round.
